The Department of Orthodontics was founded simultaneous with the establishment of the Faculty of Dentistry in 1987. The Department expanded its activities in 1995 when the Faculty moved to its newly built building.
At present, the Department enjoys the services of 1 professor, 4 associate professor and7 assistant professors. The Department began to trains postgraduate students in 2002 and now 7 postgraduate students  are studying in the Department at different educational levels. A total of 49 specialists here graduated from the Department. The Department has 26 dental units and one exclusive laboratory.
